The main objective of this research was to verify the economic feasibility of installing fruit processing industries in the irrigated perimeter of Curu-Paraipaba, state of Ceará. Three different sizes of plants (450, 1000 e 2000 kg/h) were selected. It was observed that as the plant size increases, the average cost of pulp processing decreases. These results suggest the existence of increasing economy of scale. The results also indicated that internal return rate for all plant sizes was higher than the opportunity cost of capital. A sensibility analysis suggested that only a plant with a processing capacity of 2000 kg/h was economically feasible when a 10% decrease in total revenue is considered
