This article aims to verify economic growth through its level and pace, as well as, with the Williamson Coefficient, to measure the differences between the per capita incomes of the states in the Legal Amazon region. To this end, the regional Gross Value Added in agriculture per capita between 2005 and 2017 was used as the main variable. The results indicated that inequality in the agricultural sector between the states exists, and that sovereignty in the level and pace of growth and convergence towards agricultural growth have been maintained over the years for the state of Mato Grosso. Amazonas, Acre and Amapá do not present high levels of growth and convergence for the agricultural sector. Finally, there is a need to increase technological and capital insertion in less dynamic regions so that agricultural production can grow, without the need to increase the land production factor and without impacting the regional environment, seeking to invest in reducing inequalities in the agricultural sector within the Legal Amazon region and in the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.
