This study sought to analyze the distribution of wealth generated by Brazilian companies distributing electricity in the northeast region between 2019 and 2021, based on data extracted from the DVA, available on the B3 website. The sample was made up of nine publicly traded companies, all in the electricity distribution sector, located in the northeast region of Brazil, regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) and members of the Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Distributors (ABRADEE ). The methodology used was descriptive, bibliographical, documentary research and qualitative content analysis. The results found that the tax group (group II) absorbed most of the allocation of wealth produced by companies, with annual averages of 58.69% in 2019, 56.05% in 2020 and 52.78% in 2021. In In addition, the revenue retention rate was 49%, that is, for every R$100 of gross revenue generated by companies, R$49 remained in the companies for the benefit of employees, government, financiers and shareholders. Furthermore, the asset's potential to generate wealth was 43%, that is, for every R$1 invested, the company produces R$0.43 of wealth.Downloads
