The objective of this work was to study the impacts caused by Ford's departure from Brazil with a focus on employment in the city of Camaçari - Bahia (BA). The regional differential-structural analysis method, better known as shift-share, was used. The results demonstrated strong dependence of the city's job market on the automaker. It was found that workers are specialized and concentrated in the manufacturing industry, which suggests difficulties in relocating themselves in the region's labor market. These findings gave rise to a discussion related to tax incentives granted by the government and possible public policies to reduce the impacts of the automaker's departure.Downloads
