POTENCIAL DA AGRICULTURA IRRIGADA COMO INDUTORA DO DESENVOLVIMENTO REGIONAL: O CASO DO PROJETO JAÍBA NO NORTE DE MINAS GERAIS

Abstract

This work analyze the contribution of Jaiba’s Project in the process of development of the North of Minas state. The Jaiba’s Projeto was conceived to irrigate 100 thousand hectares, aiming to activate the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors it forms to induce the regional development. The study identifies the impacts of the Project on those structures, comparing the intentions of the Project with the facts, and it calculates the capacity of return of the investment based in the indicators: Internal Rate of Return (IRR), the Benefit / Cost Relation (BCR) and the Liquid Present Value (LPV).
