The wildlife farming has been pointed as a possible source of animal protein for poor populations of development countries like Brazil. In this article, however, this activity it was been presented as alternative source of income for rural producers and as solution for the use of unproductive areas of the rural properties considered marginal for reasons that impede its use for traditional agricultural. Production costs and income obtained with capybara, collared peccary and white-lipped peccary farming are presented and those data are compared with obtained them through the pig production.
