Abstract

The Brazilian fruit has been grown in the latest years mainly as a result of new technologies, markets and reduction tariff wall. The Northeast has been fruits exporter traditionally and detached like a new frontier for the irrigation fruits expansion. Among the export fruit from the region, the mango has shown rapid harvest area growth with new technologies. This paper analyzes the opportunities and obstacles for international trade to Northeast mango. The results show that, although the mango from Northeast has not free access in the principal consumers markets, there are many opportunities in the United States of America, European and Southeast Asiatic. The main obstacle for the Brazilian mango is phytossanitary treatment.

Possui graduação em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal do Ceará (1971), graduação em Direito pela Faculdade Integrada do Ceará (2007), mestrado em Economia Aplicada pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1979) , doutorado em Economia Aplicada pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1986), especialista em Direito do Trabalho, Processo do Trabalho e Previdenciario pela Faculdade Integrada do Ceará e ex- professor da FANOR/ Dvry em Fortaleza -Ceará.Tem experiência na área de Economia, Processo Civil- Execução, Direito do Trabalho e Processo Trabalhista.
