Abstract

 This study avaluates the agricultural production systems of Jaíba Project and optimizes these systems through linear programing. Alternative production models are analysed, consi- dering investiment accomplishment in new crops including those with higher commercial values. In all optimized models it was observed increase of farm gross margin, the family labour and hired labour. It is verified that besides the Project potencial in criating greater agricuture products supply, it generates labour demand which reduce migration to the cities.
