This paper analyses if the convergence hypothesis, like posed by the neoclassical model of regional growth, is occuring among Northeastern micro-regions in the 1970-1993 period. For such, some regressions are made to verify if there exists a inverse relation between micro-regional GDP growth rates in that period and the log of per capita GDP in initial year. The persistence of the convergence process is also analysed by using the correlation coeficient (rank correlation) among the positions that each micro- region presents in relation to the states's per capita GDP in the several periods. Inequalities indexes (Williamson and Theil) are shown for all Northeastern states, they bring evidences that a convergence process is being confirmed to those states.
