Abstract

This article aims to analyze the insertion of family farming products in urban commerce in municipalities located in the territory of Alto Jequitinhonha, in the state of Minas Gerais. The diagnosis carried out by research in 25 commercial establishments in five municipalities in 2019 was used, in addition to consulting empirical studies on open-air markets in the same municipalities. The study sought to identify which products and under what conditions they enter the production-commercialization circuits in the territory. Based on references on agri-food markets and the discussion of expanding the supply of quality food, especially from rural family agribusiness, the main results indicate that the number of local products entering the supermarket circuit is directly related to factors such as quality, formalization, scale and regularity of supply.
