Abstract

The paper deals with economics of scale of different size of cashewnut processing units. It was tried to identify economic return and unused capacity of each unit. Cost theory and some indicators of investment analysis were used. The results showed the presence of economies of scale. The unit with the processing capacity of 1100kg/day is the most efficient due to low everage cost and low unused capacity. It was also observed that procesisng units bring social benefits in the form of creating job opportunities and income for the population.
